After flying from Taipei Sarah and Dan arrived in Bali on August 6. We arrived at the Internatioinal aiport at 2:30 in the afternoon of the 6th. We put our bikes together in the airport under the watchful eye of about 20 fans and once we had them ready to roll we took off. Our destination was Ubud, a tourist center in the middle of Bali, and we made it there about 1 hour after sunset. We don't really want to bike after dark so it wasn't really the best way to get started but we made it safely. We checked into a hotel and rested for the night.

The next day we (still just Dan and Sarah) checked out the town and had a beautiful ride around town. The country side was wonderful. We also took care of some details, including our plans to meet Deb and Jon that night. Deb and Jon were to come into Denpasar at about 8 and were hoping to catch a bemo (the public transportation here) to Ubud and spend the night with us. We anxiously waited in the hotel around the appointed time, and then a little after the appointed time, and then suddenly Deb walked out from behind our little bungalow and we greeted eachother. It was great to see eachother and to have finally gotten to the moment we had been looking forward to for so long.

We spend the night in Ubud and then put their bikes together in the morning. Again there were no major problems and we were off for our trip Across Bali.
