After being in Cambodia for 35
days it was bit of shock to come back to Bangkok, Thailand. In Cambodia
there no roads, let alone the skyscrapers, elevated trains etc to be had.
Probably we experienced more culture shock in the transition from Cambodia
to Bangkok than from Bangkok to Chicago.
We had already been to Bangkok earlier in the trip so coming back was
quite easy. We knew where to stay and our way around the city a little
bit. Basically we had come back to finish our trip and catch our plane
back to the States. But we had some details to take care of and didn't
want to rush right to the end so we chose to spend 5 days in the city.
It was a nice time. We did some sight seeing, shopping, and eating (Yummy!!)
but most importantly we had lots of time to talk through our experiences
and do some reflecting on what we had seen and done. We hope to include
some of those reflections on our SE Asia main page early in the New Year.
