Hanoi |
Hanoi |
City tour of Hanoi. Bicycling through the city gets you around quickly
and allows you to really understand this green, yet bustling city.

Nha Trang |
Ba Ngoi |
Extremely flat day of biking first a bit inland and then in view
of the coast. |

Ba Ngoi |
Phan Rang |
Much the same as Day 2 the ride continues flat as a pancake into
Phan Rang. You get a good taste of life down Vietnam's transportation
lifeline, Highway 1. |

Dalat |
Dalat |
Nice day ride past some waterfalls to Chicken Village. The way down
Highway 20 is all downhill so unfortunately the way back is the opposite. |

We rode our bikes on a very bumpy road to Lat Village. There we
parked the bikes and climbed LangBiang The views were pretty good
especially near the village. It was a little hard to confirm we were
on the right road coming out of Dalat. |

Ho Chi Minh City |
Mytho |
Crazy ride out of the city. First 15 km very smoggy
and urban. Doesn't really get much better over the day all the way
into Mytho. |

Cantho |
Long ride but very flat save for the bridges over the
various Mekong tributaries. Near My Thuan the impressive Australian
built bridge is complete cutting out a ferry ride. The views from
the bridge are maybe the best of the Delta. Just before arriving in
Cantho there is a very straight forward ferry that takes you right
into the city. |

Made a day trip out of going to the Phong Dien floating
Market. The road there goes right along the river and was pleasant
on the way there and very congested on the way back. From the bridge
in Phong Dien you can get a good idea of what is going on on the river
so we didn't take a boat tour. |

Long Xuyen |
Finally the traffic thins out although just a little.
You ride along water most of the day and get a good look into what
people on the Delta do to make their livelihoods. |

Chau Doc |
After about 15 km the road gets pretty bumpy and upaved
in long sections. It seemed the reason was construction so the situation
should improve. Our guide in Chau Doc confirmed this. Most of the
ride is along the river which gets wider and wider as you near Chau
Doc and the Vietnam - Cambodia border. |
