Pre Reception

On the day of our wedding we gathered early at the chapel for pictures.

Dan's Aunt Carol was the photographer and you can see she did a beautiful job. The weather was a little overcast, perfect for pictures she said. We took pictures at various places around the chapel. It was quite a sight to see so many friends and family tromping around the Sem pond in their wedding clothes.

As you may remember, or might have noticed on the invitation on the previous page the wedding began at 3:00 in the afternoon in the Chapel Undercroft, or basement We decided to have what we called a "pre-reception" before the ceremoney. The idea was that we wanted our guests to know a little bit about us and our relationship before the ceremony. Often this sort of thing takes place after the ceremony but we thought it would be meaningful to do it before.

At the pre-reception friends and family shared some stories and introduced all the guests to us as individuals and as a couple. Some contributions were sentimental and some were down right humorous. The skit of the two of us living in Japan sticks in our minds and we often talk about how close the skit has been to our experiences.

After the program the guests stretched their legs and had a chance to meet and greet at a punch reception near the Sem Pond. Then guest made their way into the Chapel for the Ceremony
